Karen Mathewson, MD is a clinical assistant professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Mathewson graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in religion and psychology. During college, she participated in the Mt. School of Medicine Humanities in Medicine Program. In addition, Dr. Mathewson worked in a hospice and studied palliative care and worked at a school for children with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Mathewson received her MD from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and completed her general psychiatry training at the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Mathewson has published research articles in the areas of autism and schizophrenia.
Dr. Mathewson is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
