Ruth Gerson, M.D.

Dr. Gerson is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Resident at the NYU Child Study Center. Her clinical interests include adolescent mental health, the prevention and treatment of early psychosis, the prevention and treatment of childhood trauma, and community mental health.

Dr. Gerson received her B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and her M.D. from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her general psychiatry residency training at the Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School.

While at Cambridge, Dr. Gerson co-authored several articles and posters on topics ranging from early psychosis to community mental health services to cyberbullying. She also volunteered as a mentor through the Excel Academy Middle School and served as a volunteer physician for the Physicians for Human Rights Asylum Network.

Dr. Gerson is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, and Physicians for Human Rights.
