Sara Popkin, MD, is a resident in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Center. Her interests include working with schools serving disadvantaged populations dealing with trauma.
Dr. Popkin received her bachelor’s degree in English from Princeton University, New Jersey, graduating magna cum laude. She received her master’s degree in teaching of secondary English from Pace University, where she worked with Teach for America in policy and curriculum development. She received her medical degree from Tulane University, New Orleans, where she received the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award. She completed her general adult psychiatry residency at the NYU School of Medicine.
Dr. Popkin is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
