Specialty Areas: Eating Disorders, Anxiety and Mood Disorders
Sara Weekly, MD, is a resident in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Center. Her interests include psychotherapy; body image and eating disorders; anxiety disorders; and medical and community education.
Dr. Weekly graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Stanford University. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where she worked on research related to culture's impact on eating disorders. There, she received national medical student awards through the Association for Academic Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association. Following graduation, she completed her general adult psychiatry training at the University of California, San Francisco, where she pursued a psychotherapy-intensive track. She also served as vice-president of her Residents' Association, an organization dedicated to improving educational experiences and collegiality among the department.
Dr. Weekly has worked extensively with medical students and other residents and looks forward to continuing her development as an educator, as well as a clinician. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
