Denise Phalon Cascio, Psy.D.

Dr. Cascio is a clinical neuropsychologist at the NYU Child Study Center, Institute for Learning and Academic Achievement. She conducts neuropsychological and educational evaluations for children and teenagers and provides remediation and skills training for children with learning disabilities and attention disorders. Dr. Cascio also conducts psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for new clients at the center.

Dr. Cascio received her B.A. in psychology at Loyola College in Baltimore and went on to complete her M.A. in general psychology at New York University, where she was involved in a research project examining subtypes of dyslexia. Dr. Cascio returned to Loyola College where she earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology with a training concentration in neuropsychological assessment and intervention, following which Dr. Cascio completed an internship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Medical Center, where she received extensive training in neuropsychological evaluation and intervention with children and adults affected by serious medical conditions. Upon graduation, Dr. Cascio completed two years of specialized post doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology at the NYU Child Study Center.

Dr. Cascio has written book reviews and presented at conferences related to learning disabilities and school intervention; formal publications include a chapter on Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus in the book Children with Complex Medical Issues in Schools. She continues to be involved in research related to the impact of learning disabilities and attention disorders on social functioning. She is a member of the New York Neuropsychology Group, New York State Psychological Association, and American Psychological Association. Dr. Cascio holds licenses to practice psychology in both New York and New Jersey and currently provides services at both locations.
