
Melissa B. Vaccari, Ph.D. is a clinical assistant professor at the NYU Child Study Center New Jersey campus. Dr. Vaccari has extensive experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, consulting with schools, and providing psychotherapy. She uses developmental theory and cognitive behavioral techniques in the assessment and treatment of a variety of neurological and emotional conditions. Her areas of specialty include the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, childhood anxiety and depression, traumatic and acquired brain injuries, and adjustment to pediatric illness.
Dr. Vaccari graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College with a B.A. in biopsychology. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from St. John’s University and completed her internship at the Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. She received additional specialized training through a two-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, New Jersey. Dr. Vaccari has also previously taught undergraduate psychology at Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ.
