Sherine F. Khalil, M.P.A.

Sherine F. Khalil, M.P.A., is the Director of Research Administration at the NYU Child Study Center, as well as the Administrator of the Phyllis Green and Randolph Cōwen Institute for Pediatric Neuroscience at the CSC. As the Director of Research Projects, Ms. Khalil is responsible for managing the Departmental Appointments and Promotions Committee, organizing formal search committees, planning interdisciplinary collaborations, and administering the recruitment process of research faculty from visit itinerary planning to offer letter and transition to the Child Study Center.

As the Administrator of the Phyllis Green and Randolph Cōwen Institute for Pediatric Neuroscience, Ms. Khalil oversees the administrative and fiscal responsibilities of the lab’s activities.

Ms. Khalil received her B.A. in Social Ecology and a minor in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and her Masters of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Health Policy and Management from NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service in 2002. She is also certified in Project Management.

Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Khalil was the Project Manager in the Department of Planning and Business Initiatives at NYU School of Medicine for 5 years, where she held increasingly responsible positions in internal consulting for the Dean’s office. In this capacity, she was responsible for the planning and implementation of high-impact institution-wide projects in a variety of areas, including academic productivity initiatives, business planning and development for service expansions, billing compliance proposals, and streamlining organizational workflow through both IT and non-IT solutions. Ms. Khalil successfully led the development and management of the School’s Faculty and Physician Recruitment Process as an official policy in 2001 and as an interactive paperless web application in 2003. With this process in place, she was able to manage the transferring of 300+ faculty from the Hospital of Joint Diseases to the School of Medicine as a result of the NYU Hospitals Center merger in 2004.

Ms. Khalil is a member of the NYU Wagner Health Administrators Advisory Committee, and was a 2004 recipient of the NYU Medical Center Excellence Award in recognition of her leadership, compassion, and work performance. Ms. Khalil is also a past president of the NYU Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
