Dr. Yihong Zhao is an assistant professor in the Division of Biostatistics at the Child Study Center. She serves as a statistical consultant for various research projects at CSC. She is interested in applying novel statistical methods to address challenging questions related to mental health problems. Her methodological research interests are in the general area of functional linear regression models, variable selection in high dimensional data, statistical genetics, and analysis of networks.
Dr. Zhao earned her BS in statistics from University of California - Riverside with high honors, and obtained her PhD in biostatistics from Columbia University. Her thesis project was supported by National Cancer Institute pre-doctoral fellowship. Before joining NYU, Dr. Zhao was an assistant professor of Clinical Behavioral Medicine at Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University and a research scientist at Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene.
Dr. Zhao is a member of the American Statistical Association. She has co-authored papers in a variety of biomedical and statistical journals, and her work has been presented at international conferences. She served as an instructor of Applied Linear Regression at Columbia University.
