The First Ten Years
Nathaniel Kahn, the Academy Award nominated director of My Architect in 2004 and Two Hands: The Leon Fleisher Story in 2006, produced this film in partnership with the New York University Child Study Center, marking the 10th Anniversary of the Child Study Center. This film made it's debut at the 10th Annual Child Advocacy Award Dinner on December 4, 2007.

Andrew's Story depicts the emotional tale of one family's struggle with autism. This short film produced exclusively for the Child Study Center by Nathaniel Kahn, Academy Award-nominated director of My Architect (2004), also highlights the Child Study Center's work in autism, interviewing Melissa Nishawalla, M.D., Clinical Director, Autism Spectrum Disorders Service, Jess Shatkin, M.D., M.P.H., Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and F. Xavier Castellanos, M.D., Brooke and Daniel Neidich Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Director of Research, Director, Phyllis Green and Randolph Cōwen Institute for Pediatric Neuroscience.


Summer in Paradise is a look at the NYU Summer Program for Kids, an eight-week day camp devoted exclusively to children with ADHD. With a primary emphasis on improving social skills and self-esteem, the SPK uses various academic and sports activities to achieve this goal. This short film follows the campers throughout their various activities and shows that it is possible for children to learn the skills to be successful while having a fun and productive summer experience.
