Post doctoral fellows in clinical psychology at the NYU Child Study Center have completed their clinical training programs and predoctoral internships in clinical psychology. The two-year postdoctoral fellowship provides an opportunity for intensive and specialized training in a concentrated area of interest. This experience allows the fellows to receive supervised training and coursework to advance to licensure and develop specialized competencies in their chosen area.
At the CSC, fellows may specialize in on of three clinical areas: Neuropsychology and Psychoeducational Assessment, which provides the necessary hours of postdoctoral experience for board certification; Anxiety and Mood Disorders, focused on diagnostic methods and empirically supported cognitive behavioral treatment approaches; or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Disruptive Behavior Disorders, also focused on diagnostic methods and behavioral treatment approaches.
Applications are welcome for these positions which typically have a start date of July or September.

For the first time we are also able to offer two positions for a Neuropsychology Fellowship with Seriously Emotionally Disturbed Children at Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center. Through the Institute for Learning and Academic Achievement directed by Susan Schwartz, M.A., fellows will receive advanced training in neuropsychological evaluations and educational remediation under the supervision of senior neuropsychologists. In addition, fellows have the opportunity to work in a milieu setting under the mentorship of Scott Cicero, Ph.D., implementing empirically supported treatments. Fellows will spend part of their training experience at the New York City Child Study Center.
All fellowships include training in the processes of teaching, supervision, and staff development, a rich didactic program, and may include participation in clinical research. Fellows enjoy active collaboration with and participation in the Center's other Institutes. Individualized training programs are designed to take into account the Fellow's long-term career goals. Candidates should have a strong background in behavioral and cognitive behavioral interventions and neuropsychology candidates should possess extensive testing experience.
