practical parenting workshop

 

The NYU Child Study Center is hosting an eight-session, weekly workshop series for parents and caregivers of 3-6 year olds along with an accompanying socia-emotional skills group for their 3-6 year olds.

Led by Rachel DeCicco, L.C.S.W., the Practical Parenting workshop topics will include: 

  • Setting goals
  • Enjoying meal time together
  • Ignoring mild misbehavior
  • Routines and responsibilities
  • Positive reinforcement
  • Support for parents
  • The power of play
  • Proactive strategies
  • Dealing with feelings
  • Time out

Led by Dana Rhule, PhD, the Friends' School (children's skills group) topics will include: 

  •  Building self-esteem
  • Dealing with feelings
  • Celebrating diversity
  • Eating healthy foods
  • Problem solving
  • Paying for attention
  • Following directions
  • Making friends

When: Every Monday from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Contact the number below for the next start date.

Fee: Each session is $150 (fee includes up to two caregivers and one child). Registration is required for each session. See below for instructions on signing up.
